Poppy is the first part of a trilogy of EPs that the band will release, that will include "Happy" and "Rocky III".

The militant DIY ethic of the band has been lifted to another level on Poppy, after the band decided to abandon their old studio, and build a brand new one from scratch. Their new studio, which the band calls "Hulen", has given the duo a wide range of vintage and home-made instruments which have been exploited to the maximum on Poppy, where every single song seemingly employs a totally different approach.

Poppy is an immense shift in gears for the duo, who have abandoned their reckless lo-fi sound of their previous releases, in order to embrace a far more versatile approach, that shifts constantly from one song to another, drawing from a wide range of inspirations, while still keeping the old Beardy Durfs vibe.

Written, recorded, mixed and mastered by the band, Poppy is a versatile EP that shows sides of the band that have not been seen previously. From the pop enthused feel of Get Back in Line, to the chilling organ universe of Grenadine to the schizophrenic chaotic crooning of Infinity is Nothing, Poppy is a ride that is fully worth taking, and shows a band that wants to challenge the norms of pop music.
